Buccaneers’ Tom Brady made reporters laugh with sarcastic response to stunning win over Saints

After completely shocking the New Orleans Saints with another winning practice, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady fixed his unzipped jacket as he entered the press conference room and says the only thing you would expect him to say at this point in his illustrious career.

“Just like we drew it,” Brady said, smiling at a crowd of laughing reporters.

Brady’s mix of emotions throughout the game – screaming on the touchline in frustration at the way the attack sputtered to celebrate Rachaad White’s game-winning touchdown to seal a stunning 17-6 victory – was a edge-of-your-seat type stuff. .

The score was 16-3 in the fourth quarter and Brady had only won one game with 13 or more fourth quarter points once in his career. It was Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons that resulted in an overtime victory with the New England Patriots.

Overtime was not necessary for this one. Instead, Brady just needed to find the end zone for the first time in the game with rookie tight end Cade Otton firing a smuggling yard pass from the GOAT to bring the Bucs within six points.

Feeling the pressure, New Orleans needed a few first downs to freeze the game, as the Bucs still had all three timeouts on their sidelines.

Instead, Andy Dalton and his group went three times, burning just two of the Buccaneers’ timeouts and the two-minute warning has yet to be reached, effectively giving Brady two timeouts and more than enough. time to win the game with a successful touchdown and extra point.

At this point in the game, yes, it feels like Brady has drafted it many times before. He dissected the Saints’ defense with short, methodical passes to get his receivers out of bounds.

And when he needed that big play, he found Julio Jones, who passed on a huge leaping grab that put the Bucs on the Saints’ five-yard line.

Brady, then found Chris Godwin for what would have been the game-winning touchdown, left tackle Donovan Smith, the NFL’s most-penalized offensive lineman this season, uncalled for holding.

Nonetheless, Brady found Godwin for nine yards to give the Bucs a chance from the Saints’ six-yard line.

It was then that Brady waited for White to win his game against linebacker Demario Davis and stretched his body in the end zone. Ryan Succop’s extra point was good and Brady added his 44th game-winning drive to his future Hall of Fame resume.

The season hasn’t gone the way Brady would like at this point, as Tampa Bay only picked up their sixth win of the season.

But the Bucs sit atop a dreadful NFC South split and separate themselves a bit from the pack with this win.
